Silvia Angelini

Silvia Angelini

Institute for Marine Biological Resources and Biotechnology (CNR-IRBIM)

Researcher at the CNR Institute for Marine Biological Resources and Biotechnology. I am principally involved in producing stock assessments for small pelagic and demersal species; the results of these assessments are presented at various international management fora such as those of the European Union and FAO-GFCM. I am also involved in the development of stock assessments of data limited stocks. I have experience in using both simple single species stock assessment models that more complex models; during my PhD I developed expertise for developing models regarding the Ecosystem Approach to Fisheries. The results of these researches are objects of scientific publications.

Mattia Betti

Mattia Betti

Institute for Marine Biological Resources and Biotechnology (CNR-IRBIM)

Chemical Technical Collaborator at the CNR Institute for Marine Biological Resources and Biotechnology. My research focuses on sampling, sample preparation and analysis of chemical contaminants. The matrices on which I worked are sea water, marine sediment, and biological material. I have participated in more than 50 national and international oceanographic sampling cruises.

Massimo Leonetti

Massimo Leonetti

Institute for Marine Biological Resources and Biotechnology (CNR-IRBIM)

Technical Operator at the CNR Institute for Marine Biological Resources and Biotechnology. I deal with construction and maintenance of technical-scientific equipment and I participate in oceanographic surveys. Specifically, from 1988 to 2012 I contributed to research projects about atmospheric environment and space. Since 2013 I took part in the sampling and chemical analyses on sea water, fishing activity and benthos, both on research vessels and boats. I also collaborate to the new set-up and functionalization of the Fano Marine Center marine reef aquarium, its management and maintenance.

Mauro Marini

Mauro Marini

Institute for Marine Biological Resources and Biotechnology (CNR-IRBIM)

Researcher at the CNR for more than 30 years. My research interests include chemical processes of both organic and inorganic compounds in soil, groundwater, and sea water. Since June 1997 I deal almost exclusively with the sea, focusing on biogeochemical mechanisms occurring in the water column and in the water/sediment interface, and on interactions between pollutants and xenobiotics in marine sediments and organisms. Currently, I hold the position of Director od Research at the CNR Institute for Marine Biological Resources and Biotechnology. I am author or co-author of more than 280 scientific publications.

Sarah Pizzini

Sarah Pizzini

Institute for Marine Biological Resources and Biotechnology (CNR-IRBIM)

Researcher at the CNR Institute for Marine Biological Resources and Biotechnology. I am graduated in Chemical Sciences at the Ca’ Foscari University of Venice. My primary research interest is the anthropogenic impact assessment on the environment. I deal mainly with the determination of persistent and emerging organic contaminants in different environmental matrices, their sources and pathways toward remote and polar regions; the effects of climate change on the re-emission in the environment of pollutants and anthropogenic tracers; the past climate reconstructions through organic proxies and legacy contaminants in ice cores and other environmental archives.
